3rd Street Remodel
The homeowners originally contacted DSA to design a pool and cabana in the backyard of their existing home. After completing the initial phase, the owners were so pleased with the team’s work they decided to enlist our help with a more extensive renovation to their home. First, they wanted to design a new, ground up two-story guest house complete with a home gym, two-car garage, full kitchen and living space, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The owners also wanted to do a complete cosmetic renovation of the existing main house, including exterior and interior alterations.
On the exterior of the home the existing vinyl siding was replaced with crisp white stucco, board and batten siding, and white brick. The dormers were given a more modern look, incorporating a sloped metal roof. Doors and windows were also replaced throughout the home. On the interior, our team designed a new two-story addition, providing for a much larger kitchen, pantry, and garage on the first floor and a bonus room, two additional bedrooms and two additional bathrooms on the second floor. Collaborating with Rob Bowen Design Group, we also upgraded all cabinetry, finishes, and fixtures throughout the home.
During demolition, foundation issues were discovered in the wing of the house containing the primary suite. These issues took the renovation in this area from a simple cosmetic upgrade to a full demolition and rebuild. Never to back down from a challenge, the DSA team saw this as an opportunity to redesign the primary wing, giving the owners a larger bathroom with a 14’ shower, larger closet, more functional bedroom space, and a covered lanai.
