Gulf Boulevard Residence
Lot constraints, endangered turtles, and dedicated prayer rooms proved worthy design challenges early on in this project. As for the interior design work, the emphasis was on high-end quality, function and embracing the impressive views of the Gulf, so each private and public space within, was taken into careful consideration during space planning. First, the team utilized as much natural light as possible to enhance the interior living areas and blur the distinction between indoor and outdoor spaces. To mimic the outside elements, an almost liquid-like flow through the home was achieved with the design of sleek metal and glass staircases, see-through glass floors and strategically placed colored LED lighting. All of the décor, custom art installations, lighting and finishes were designed to cascade, glisten and glimmer like the Gulf waters viewed through the expansive retractable glass openings throughout the home. Custom made, wave inspired tile on the living room columns, marbled flooring, reflective surfaces and iridescent tile create a clean, contemporary flow in the main living spaces, complemented by more fluid curves repeated in the lines of the modern seating, bar stools and ceiling fans. These concepts and finishes were carried throughout most of the interior of the home.
