Design Styles Architecture’s Design Center has won a Silver award for Historic Preservation/Restoration in the 2020 Best in American Living™ Awards (BALA) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

The historic Ybor City home, originally built in 1916, was moved from its original location as a part of a Department of Transportation expansion project in 2017. Its final resting place just happened to be directly across the street from the Design Styles Architecture Headquarters building. Our team could not pass up the opportunity to restore it to its former glory. This home serves not only as our Design Center, and a showcase of our abilities as designers, but as a snapshot in time to the beauty and care of the historic homes of early 20th century Ybor City.

Now in its 37th year, BALA recognizes outstanding achievement by builders and design professionals in all sectors of the residential housing industry including single-family production, custom, multifamily, affordable, remodeling, community and interiors. BALA is built on the principle that all great homes start with great design, no matter cost or size.

Buying a home is often the most significant purchase people will make in their lifetime, and BALA winners spotlight what building industry professionals need to know to set their project apart and hit the right mark with today’s highly educated and discerning home buyers.
