Don Green, AIA Quality Control Manager

We sat down with Don for a snapshot of what he does on a day to day basis, the why behind his passion for architecture, and a little bit of fun along the way.

Q: What does a typical day look like for you?

A: You can usually find me responding to a wide variety of requests from associates to review drawing sets, answering building code questions, assisting in development of details and specifications, and providing professional guidance.

Q: What do you most like about your job?

A: The most fulfilling thing about my job is being able to mentor less experienced associates in learning some of the many aspects of the practice of architecture.

Q: What is your favorite project to date?

A: My favorite project to date is the Pine View School. The project was a collaboration with one of my favorite Florida Architects, Carl Abbott; and it was a tremendous opportunity to plan a campus of 14 buildings and then be able to design all 14 of those buildings in one project.

Q: What is your favorite architectural style?

A: I am definitely a Modernist!

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

A: In my spare time, I like to exercise and listen to music.

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “Anything worth doing, is worth doing right.” – Hunter S. Thompson
