We sat down with Andy for a snapshot of what he does on a day to day basis, the why behind his passion for architecture, and a little bit of fun along the way.
Q: What does a typical day look like for you?
A: As Principal and CEO, I wear many different hats all at the same time. I spend my days with the leadership team making sure that the company is going in the right direction, as well as in client and prospect meetings working with the rest of the team on projects. I also spend time mentoring team members on their personal goals.
Q: What do you most like about your job?
A: We have an extraordinary amount of talent in our office, all who went to school to get into this field. I enjoy watching the team thrive and develop successful design solutions. Seeing them get excited about their work gives me a sense of accomplishment in my life and ambitions. Not to mention, in collaboration with each other, the team and I get the opportunity to make our clients dreams come true every day.
Q: What is your favorite project to date?
A: I get asked that all the time. To be honest, it’s not any of our projects but seeing our clients get excited about their project coming to life from a piece of paper brings me joy. Once it starts to come to life, they start to understand why we did what we did. I still have clients comment how much they love their new home or office. I truly get a kick out of that the most.
Q: What is your favorite architectural style?
A: I really don’t have one. Just great architecture.
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: I enjoy spending time with my wife, family, friends, and our dog Murphy.
