A Chat With…Rahkeem Chisholm

RAHKEEM CHISHOLM

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER, DSA

We sat down with Rahkeem for a snapshot of what she does on a day to day basis, the why behind her passion for architecture, and a little bit of fun along the way.

Q: What does a typical day look like for you?

A: On a typical day, I’m usually conducting code research, building product research, and creating architectural drawings. I am also heavily involved in project communications between our different affiliates (ie. Engineers, owner rep(s), building officials, and vendors).

Q: What do you most like about your job?

A: I feel so valued by the company that I work for, and I get to be part of the gratifying process of creating the built environment where we all live, work, and play.

Q: What is your favorite project to date?

A: Children’s Board Temple Terrace. This project was an interior buildout of an existing commercial building for a family resource center. This is one of the first projects I was able to be a part of from beginning to end, where I really got the chance to experience each phase of the design and construction administration progression. Knowing that I was able to provide a service that created a quality finished product its users will enjoy for a very long time is an extremely rewarding feeling for me.

Q: What is your favorite architectural style?

A: Sustainable Architecture/Green Design.

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

A: I like to run, read a good book, and most of all…relax!

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: “Live to learn & learn to live.” – Me
