A Chat With...Julia Okhlopkova




We sat down with Julia for a snapshot of what she does on a day to day basis, the why behind her passion for Architecture, and a little bit of fun along the way.

Q: What does a typical day look like for you?

A: Each day is different it depends on the project and the phase I'm working on. But in general, my typical day consists of working on construction drawings for different types of buildings in Revit for the Commercial team.

Q: What do you most like about your job?

A: I love being able to be a part of unique and exciting projects. But as a former Russian engineer, I like the structural side of building design.

Q: What is your favorite project to date?

A: Any project becomes my favorite during the time I am working on it! But one of the more interesting projects that I have been involved in so far – is an old theater with an antique furniture and design, and a mysterious atmosphere…the owner says the building may be haunted! So, it has been interesting to visit this building and then model it in Revit.

Q: What is your favorite architectural style?

A: Modern/Contemporary.

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

A: I have many hobbies, but my favorites are crafting, digital drawing, and watercolor painting.
